Hi. I actually wanted to respond to your z3 tweaking post a while back. I just bought a z3 and am trying to figure out how to calibrate it with a spyder2pro, like you did. When I select "projector" with the spyder2pro software, it won't let me adjust for RGB grayscale (those settings are available if I select LCD monitor for some reason).

Can you tell me what steps you took to calibrate your z3 with the spyder2pro?

Thanks!

Hi, I came across your blog by googling 'indie rock' and 'audiophile.' I'm looking for advice on putting together a good, relatively moderate (5K total?) 2-channel system that will be rock friendly, and particularly indie-rock friendly. But which will also be good for chamber music, folk, etc. And will not make, for instance, my badly recorded but still-treasured hardcore records sound completely awful the way some high end equipment does. (I currently have paradigm atoms and an old cambridge audio integrated, which I've enjoyed, but it's time to upgrade).

I'd be curious for any advice you had, either in terms of specific equipment recommendations or general approach. I live in SoCal, so I can audition a lot of things. I noticed you have Vandersteen speakers- are these rock friendly? Have you ever heard the Unico hybrid integrated amps? I haven't, but on paper, they seem like they might be a good choice for me, and there are good used deals on audiogon.

Thanks, and let me know if you have any thoughts.
